Shooting Practice
For this exercise, I have gathered all of the videos and footages that I and my team have taken for the music video and used it to practice on the framing exercise that Mr Martin have given us. here were a total of 8 different frames that we had to shoot and I just compiled them all into premiere pro and I added in music that I got on youtube and that was pretty much it.
The footages and the graphics were given by Mr Martin on a google
drive that he provided.

With all the footages, I watched them one by one and with a reference
that is given, I tried replicating them onto premiere pro.

We were given graphics such as text messages to put onto the
composition, so I tried to make them as natural as much as possible.
There were several graphics, but I just used some of them for the
video.
After, we were told to make the composition only to about 30 seconds,
so I just trimmed out some of the parts that were unnecessary and
exported it in the time frame of 30 seconds.
In this, I was supposed to make a group of 3-4 people to make a
short 30 second music video and use the different camera angles that
Mr Martin assigned us to do and use for the music video.
My group members were;
Me Jonathan Wiguma Athiya
For the background, we decided to film in the park in Bukit Jalil as
it had many different places that could be our filming
background.
We have decided to help each other film our own parts of the videos
then when it came to the actual dancing, we needed to split our
screen into 3 and put ourselves in.
As for the music, we chose as a group to go with the song Happy by
Pharrell Williams as it was groovy and it could make us be more
hyped when filming.
For this exercise, we had to form a group of people who needed to
take part of a role in a real-life filming crew. We were going to be
filming a sequence of videos and shots that replicates scenes from a
Korean drama show Happiness.
We made a list of people who wanted to take a role in the filming
crew. I was picked as the producer as all of the other roles were
taken.
Then we picked a theme, where it was chosen to be rom-com..? I
think. But it was funny still because the actor and the actress for
the filming were both males.
As the producer, I needed to make sure than everyone was doing their
job..? and that everyone was on time.

We used 3 locations in campus, and the other 1 was scrapped as it had bad lighting and too much exposure.
After shooting, we were of course told to edit the videos, and I wanted to do something dramatic. I thought about the outcomes, and I decided to go with a dramatic trailer for this "movie" named "Taylor's Secret".
I used multiple photos from the gallery of my phone when I was documenting and taking photos on the day. And I found a copyright free dramatic trailer music and started to edit it.
I also wanted to make this funny and serious so I added in graphics where it had bad reviews and things like that.
I edited the clips to match the beatdrops so that it really impacts and syncs with the music.
The first exercise was quite easy for me as it was very much like the previous project, where we just had to edit the clips in premiere pro. But when it came to filming, I did not know what was going on. When I filmed the music video, it was blazing hot since it was outdoors and we also had to dance... Then when it was the production shoot, I didn't know what to do as the producer so I think that was a challenge for me.
Observations
Although the music video and the production shoot was quite difficult for me, I still had a blast on being able to participate with everyone as it was very fun being able to make new friends while doing that and be able to learn new things.
Findings
I think I really got into editing in premiere pro more after I did this project. It was very fun and I could try new things with different materials that I got from this class and being able to show it to other people and share experiences together is a very satisfying feeling.
