Tasks
Task 1 (Brand Proposal)
for the first task we started out by researching on the different brands
that relates to the product of the quadbike, which were brands like kymco,
honda and other atv brands. We went into their market shares and the market
trends for their vehicles as well.
Then we started to interview people who rides atvs for fun and
professionally to see what they like on the quadbike and what they dislike
about it. Some were intrigued by the idea, but some weren't as they were not
really looking any changes on what they already liked.
With that done, we went on to do some research to make the key visuals to
experiment what our brand would look like for the quadbike. There were not a
lot of visuals on the internet that really resembled the quadbike so with
the limitations of the images, we tried our best with the help of AI to make
the posters and images.

Task 2 (Designing Of the Brand)
We started the problem statement, the insights discovery and the how
might we in order to continue what we needed to do to make the brand
designs. To see what we needed to make and accomplish, we started the
customer journey map. Although there were some complications here and
there, with having some issues understanding the progression, we managed
to pull through and finish it off, making us become clear of what we
needed to make for the touchpoints.
We finalized some of the design boards and the mockups to see what we can
provide as a product for the website and for the Instagram
posts.

I made out the storyboard by referencing some of the advertisements
that famous car brands have done to make sure the outcome could be as
impactful when it came to being a real advertisement video.
As for the billboard, with the help of AI, I was able to make the
background, and by tracing the quadbike, I was able to make the billboard
design.

Reflections
Week 1
The brief was given to us and Miss Zae has explained what was needed and the requirements of the project. She has explained that the target audiences and the manufacturing will be globa and so we will be required to look more into a broader sense of innovation and competitiveness. The Quadbike was said to be an overlapping design of 2 different machinery, being a segway and an ATV. This being helpful to people who wants more comfortability and safety in their design of rides.
Week 2
Mr Mike has briefed us on the empathetic stage of the assignment and the instructions for the contextual research. He has told us to make sure to be in the consumer’s shoes when we are making and designing the product in order to make a better design and make the product what the consumer is looking out for.
Week 3
Mr Mike has told us to make a persona who fulfils the criteria and make a person and not a statistics, etc. need to make 4 personas within the age group. Can make up the persona. 4 with different ages so that it becomes more diverse in thinking and mentality, lifestyle and income.
Week 4
During this week, Mr Mike told us to redo the personas that we have made as it was not really reviewing and reflecting who we wanted to focus on for the people who would buy our products in bulk. What we made was people who would just buy it for recreational purposes and very restricted personals.
Week 5
Mr. Mike urges us to create compelling AI-assisted images that capture consumers' attention and highlight the product's potential advancements. The goal is to prompt curiosity and awareness about the transformative impact of AI technology.
Week 6
This week, we were very confused and lost since we were doing interviews and not surveys. Surveys would have been more for the general public opinion but since this was focussing on the people who rides and knows about atvs, and EVs that are related to the quad bike, it was difficult to find people we could meet up physically.
Week 7
We were getting back tracked as we were not able to find any of the interviewees that were willing to take part in the questions. It led us to being late for the other things that were needed to be done, but it was quite inevitable as there aren’t a lot of atv riding people inside of KL.
Week 8
This week was the independent learning week so we discussed it with the team to try to get some of the interviews for the atv riders and park owners done. So we tried to book a reservation to actually get photos and discuss with the team there on the site for the research of quadbike.
Week 9
The interviews were done and in total we got 5 interviews from different varieties of people. Also getting some from all the way from the States. From that, we understood that it was difficult for us to actually try to sell the Quadbike and we identified the problem that since it isn’t what anyone is used to, it is quite hard to convince them to buy something that they are not familiar with. I have questioned them if the changes were made, would they have bought the quadbike, but most of them has denied the offer.
Week 10
We needed to finish up the how might we’s and that was sort of hard to finish up on since it was trying to depict how we can overcome the main challenges that we had with the customers. We really had to try to be in their shoes to see what they would want from the brand in order to like it.
Week 11
For this week, we tried to research more on the key visuals that we needed to make our own, and we tried looking upon some of the competitors’ designs to have a reference to work with. We were also close to finish up the slides with the help of the groupmates and filling in the different criteria that everyone was in.
Week 12
Mr Mike has given a green light for the presentation that we were showing it off to Ms Zae, but with some changes of course. We tried our best to quickly finish off what we had left for the slides and told me to spell check for some of the slides.
Week 13
I started to fill out the customer journey map that is reflecting how the customers might feel when they see the brand “BIZON”. It was quite difficult to imagine what they would’ve liked and what they wouldn’t like as we were not really the customers buying the quadbike.
Week 14
Mr Mike has suggested that we need to quickly make up the presentation as we were behind in schedule, he told us that we needed to make a gantt chart in order to keep track of the designs that were going to be made to fulfil the presentation in the final week. I found it to be pretty daunting as it was coming to an end and I needed to get my group to do their parts as soon as they could.
Week 15
The last week was to finalise everything that was needed.to be made in order to present them to the client. This time around was the most hectic as there were members who were really finalising their work to submit it onto the presentation slides that was going to be due next week. Most of the work was finished but we needed to correct some of the parts that were not done correctly or needed some improvements. This module and project provided me with a sneak peek into the world of the design industry, revealing the real challenges of crafting a brand alongside a team. Navigating conflicting design preferences and styles can be a tough nut to crack, and it's not always a walk in the park. Despite the hardships and the frustrations, I'm content with my choice of stepping into a project that didn't align with my specialization. It allowed me to broaden my design knowledge and enhance my abilities to understand the different techniques that is required.
