Progress 1 - Character design
In project 1, there were 2 progress that was needed to be done. The first progression was the character design, which included the turnaround sheet for our character, the pose sheet, then the expression sheet.
I started off by gathering some ideas for the character. I wanted it to look a bit more realistic than a cartoon character so i tried to search for character designs like arcane, overwatch and etc.

i wanted my character to be quite tall and looking like a scavenger. The theme of the story was going to be on a desert so It felt felt fit for the guy to wear a mask to cover his face while going through the desert.
I kind of took references from Star Wars like the jawas who takes everything they find and is wearing a robe, so i kind of implemented that onto my character.
The color coding was very brown, as it is to blend, but also because it is worn down fabric so its easier to attain.
Then, i gave him a rifle, and a bullet that is kept on his bullet strap around his body. Then as for his lower part of his body, just normal cargo pants and a normal brown boots was made.

For the pose sheet, i just replicated the poses i saw on Pinterest and just made the character into Horund.

Then finally for the expression sheet, I just took his mask off as it would kind of be impossible to tell what expression he would have if he always wore a mask so I just gave him a blondish hairstyle, a scar on his eyebrow, and made him look like hes around 30-40 years old.. so there were wrinkles.

I also tried out a different brush to color it because I really like this kind of style when it comes to making a colored sketch and things like that.
Progress 2 - Layout Design
For the layout design, i wanted the setting of the world to be a post-apocalyptic state so buildings are collapsed and there is pretty almost no living organisms left and is close to extinction kind of phase. However, since the story is about an oasis that the main character comes across and the story is around that oasis, it was better for me to draw a layout according to the theme.
Since oasis’ are in deserts I simple drew a desert that has some sort of vegetation around the oasis. It was going to be a 1 point perspective as the character was walking towards the oasis. It felt necessary as it makes the story just by looking at it. It feels like the character was walking towards the oasis for a reason.

Then i drew a sketch of it on a paper with some other ideas i had and just traced it on photoshop and it came out looking pretty decent. The character was highlighted and the shadows and were added onto the character as well as on the background.

Reflections
Experience
The exercises helped me understand a lot about the software, 'adobe animate' and the simple fundamentals and the basics that are needed to when it is used to animate things. But I really liked the practical exercise where I could make simple altercations to make things a bit more visually appealing.
Observations
I found that I was making more animation on ones and not on twos and that really made more progress to be completed and I was not really doing in bet
